Yes! After hours events have returned to Land O' Lakes and its high time we had another dance event...this time to celebrate the winter break from school and the end of the year, with all its holidays. A professional DJ will spin some of the best dance music and all your requests with the lights off. The dance is free and free glow sticks, food, and drinks, including our famous Monster Spiked Punch, will be available for everyone. Friday, December 18th from 7:00-10:00pm. Bring your friends, bring your requests, and bring your desire to dance!
Help raise money for the Battle of the Bands by participating in our Charity Car Wash at LOL. We know you want to rock, but first you have to clean! Sign-up now to volunteer. Saturday, December 5th, 12:30-4:30pm.
Hey! Have you listened to the music playlist on the Teen page? Do you like the song selection? Is there anything you'd like to hear? We want to play all your favorites: rock, dance, country, hiphop, old school, or whatever you like (just keep it clean). Send us your song requests in the "Post a Comment" box below and let us know what you want to hear. Happy Listening!
Join us at the South Holiday Library for a free horror movie screening just in time for the holiday. We'll be using our giant projector screen and speaker system, plus there will be free popcorn, soda, and candy (considering the season). Mmmmm, free movie. Questions? Give us a call at (727) 834-3331. Be prepared to be scared!
Get in the holiday spirit and paint a pumpkin at the Centennial Park Library. Yes, it’s not carving, but at least these won’t rot and you know you can draw a lot better than you can swing a knife! Pumpkins and art supplies will be provided free of charge, along with snacks and drinks. Show up early, as space is going to be limited. Tuesday, October 27th from 6:00-8:00pm. Any questions, call us at (727) 834-3204.
Join us at Land O' Lakes for a scaled down version of our annual Masquerade Dance in the Dark. Come dressed up and enter our costume/cosplay contest for cash prizes. Enjoy a free monster movie, candy, pizza, and more. Where else are you going to find an excuse to dress up on a Saturday afternoon? Be there on October 24th at 2:00pm.

Yes, our web designer has gone crazy! Rather than locking him up, we have decided to make a contest out of his insanity!
Five links on our Teen Page have been cornified. That means that instead of the link working properly, unicorns and rainbows will randomly appear on the page. They look much like these:
So, your goal is to search through every link on the Library's Teen Page and find the 5 cornified links. Then, post a comment on this blog entry with your name, e-mail or MySpace address, and the 5 links where you found the cornification. We will have a random drawing from among all the correct answers on August 14th. The winner will receive a $50 Best Buy Gift Card, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Don't share the answers with others, or you reduce your chances of winning. Good luck and happy unicorn searching!
Ice Cream - yummy. Join us for another great SRC event at LOL to watch a flick and build your own ice cream sundaes from among our many flavors of ice cream and a massive collection of toppings. What could be better? Movie title TBA.
Tuesday, July 14th at 6:00pm.
Sure, Battleship is a fun game when played on a tabletop. Wouldn't it be better, though, to play on a life-sized board, with human pieces and giant rubber balls as missiles? We think so too! Join us for the second in our series of live-action boardgames.
Friday, July 10th from 6:00-9:00pm.
Free snacks and drinks.

Want to win two tickets to this year's WWE SummerSlam event on August 23rd in L.A.? All you have to do is be one of the first 25 teens/tweens (ages 10-18) to check out two or more books at any of the Pasco County libraries between June 24th and July 16th and you could win. Posters featuring Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, Beth Phoenix, and Eve will be given out to everyone who checks out 2+ books until each library runs out. Only one poster per person, regardless of the number of times you check out books.
So, how does this poster help you win? Well, there is a number on the bottom right corner of every poster. On Friday, July 17, two poster numbers will be drawn determining the grand prize winners along with alternate poster numbers, all of which will be posted on WWEKids.com. The two grand prize winners will win airfare to Los Angeles for two, two nights’ hotel, two tickets and $200 spending money for WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 23, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Ten first prize winners will win copies of the WWE Encyclopedia. See the official rules online (PDF) for complete info.
Seem easy enough? Just come in between June 24 and July 16 (or while supplies last) and check out 2 or more books to enter. You won't see much better odds of winning a prize like this.
