The Land O' Lakes Library is THE place to be for all things not prom. You don't need a date, you don't need a fancy dress or tux, and you don't have to spend a ton of money. We'll be decorating with spoofs of prom decor, spiking the punch with Monster, and dancing to a DJ who will be spinning his own remixes plus your requests. How often do you get to hear what you want at a prom?
We'll also be smashing a disco ball pinata and crowning a reverse king and queen.
Best of all, it's free! How cool is that?
Friday, May 8th from 7:00-10:00pm.
Teens only. Refreshments provided.

The Hugh Embry Library is hosting its 2nd Annual Poetry Contest. Last year we had a great turnout, and we want you to discover your hidden talents once more.
Please submit your best original poem to the Hugh Embry Library by April 21st at 5:00pm.
Each poem must be no longer than 30 lines long and no shorter than five lines. Write your name, address, phone number, grade and name of school on the back of your entry before handing it in. We'll be entering the best three into VOYA Magazine's yearly poetry contest at the end of the year!
We will celebrate the poets right here at the library on April 29th at 4:00pm. Come join the party - even if you don't have a poem entered in this year's National Poetry Month Contest, you can still come help us celebrate our poets!
Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
No prior registration required for this event.

We will also be giving away hundreds of glowsticks and wands for your after sundown amusement. The best part is that admission is free as long as you have a library card!

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps the library determine all the great programs it should put on for the 11-18 crowd. TAB members earn community service hours just by attending meetings and offering their thoughts and opinions. Plus, members get to be the first to know about all the other volunteer opportunities available in the library. Free snacks and drinks are always served at meetings, so come hungry and ready to have your voice heard!
